WES Presents: Antonio Garcia Pascual

We are pleased to bring to you the first WES Presents event of WES 2017. As part of a series of free stand-alone events in the months leading up to the Summit, we will host Antonio Garcia Pascual, Chief European Economist at Barclays Bank, on Tuesday, 22nd November.

Antonio Garcia Pascual’s career at Barclays began in 2010, when he was appointed Chief Southern European Economist. In 2013, he progressed on to assume the role of Chief Euro-Area Economist before becoming Chief Economist for Europe where he heads European macroeconomics research and advises senior risk managers.

Prior to joining Barclays, Pascual spent 8 years as the IMF’s Senior Monetary and Capital Markets Economist as well as his post as Senior Advisor in Macro-Financial Analysis and Banking within the Central Bank of the Russian Federation. Further to this, his articles and work have been extensively published in academic journals such as Oxford Economic Papers, the Review of International Economics and the Journal of International Money and Finance.

Pascual obtained his bachelors degree in Quantitative Economics at the Complutense University of Madrid. By the age of 29 he had also obtained his PhD in Econometrics at the University of California.
