Summit Ball: theme announced

With the exciting news of big name speakers that's been coming in recently, it's easy to forget that WES is about more than just hearing from some of the world's finest minds.

But it wouldn't be the Summit without the traditional ball, and our Socials Team has been working hard behind the scenes to make sure that this year's soirée betters even last year's olympic offering - no easy task.

So this year we're going for something a little different. Think America in the roaring twenties: the businessmen and the gangsters, the decadence and the money of Jay Gatsby's New York.

You can expect period decor and stylish entertainment, dancing, a DJ, a photographer, and the return of the infamous WES quiz, with the usual array of prizes for the winners. We'll be bringing you all the best of early 20th century America, but none of the worst. That means we'll be dropping 1920's prohibition: a fully-stocked bar and generous drinks deals are to be expected.

As ever, sharp suits and classy dresses are a must - although themed fancy dress is encouraged.

Remember that a weekend pass will get you into the ball as well as all the talks. We look forward to seeing you in February, at The Great Gatsby Ball.
