He was appointed Chief Economist and a member of the Monetary Policy Committee in 2008. He later progressed to become the Executive Director Financial Stability and a member of the Financial Policy Committee, before leaving for his role at BP.
Dale received his BSc in Economics in 1988 at the University of Wales, and joined the University of Warwick for his MSc in Economics soon after. Upon completing his degree, he joined the Bank of England where he served as a Private Secretary to Lord Mervyn King and Head of Economic Forecasting. Dale also served as a Senior Advisory at the US Federal Reserve Board of Governors between 2006 and 2008.
