Announced: Gabriela Ramos

We are proud to announce our next speaker from our WES 2016 speaker lineup, Gabriela Ramos!

Mrs. Gabriela Ramos is the OECD Chief of Staff and Sherpa to the G20.

Since 2006, she has been advising the Secretary-General, supporting his strategic plan and promoting the expansion of the organization to new members and partner countries. Recently, she contributed to the launch of major OECD initiatives related to gender issues, skills and development.

Beyond representing the OECD at the G20 Sherpa meetings, Mrs. Ramos is also responsible for the contributions of the Organization to the global agenda for the G20, the G7 and the OECD Ministerial Council Meeting.

Previously, she served as Head of the OECD Office in Mexico and Latin America, where she promoted recommendations in areas such as health and education. Moreover, her work in Mexico includes the preparation of several reports and the development of the Mexican OECD Forum, where she launched the “Getting it Right” flagship publication series.

Before joining the OECD, Mrs. Ramos occupied several positions in the Mexican Government as advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director of OECD Affairs. Furthermore, she has been Professor of International Economy at the Universidad Iberoamericana and at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México.

Mrs Ramos holds an MA in Public Policies from Harvard University, and is a Fulbright and Ford MacArthur fellow.
