Announced: Dr. Thiemo Fetzer

We're pleased to announce the next speaker in our line-up for WES 2016, Dr. Thiemo Fetzer.

Dr. Thiemo Fetzer is an Assistant Professor in Economics at the University of Warwick, specializing in Development, Energy, and Resource Economics. He has published a variety of papers on topics as broad as microcredit, social insurance, the socio-economic effects of unplanned fertility and various other areas.

Dr. Fetzer is also affiliated with the Centre for Competitive Advantage in the Global Economy (CAGE) at the University of Warwick and the Spatial Economics Research Centre (SERC) at London School of Economics, where he obtained a master in Economics as well as his PhD based on his thesis “Of naxalites, pirates and microfinance borrowers: three essays in applied microeconomics”. He then became a Teaching fellow and assistant at LSE.

Prior to becoming an academic, Dr. Fetzer held various other positions, mostly in international bodies. He was a visiting scholar at the research department of the IMF and currently carries out consultancy services for the World Bank, Financial Times and Brookings Institution.
