Joseph Stiglitz

Nobel Memorial Prize Laureate in Economic Sciences

Joseph Stiglitz is a recipient of the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences, as well as the John Bates Clark Medal. Previously, he served as Senior Vice-President of the World Bank and was the chairman of the US President’s Council of Economic Advisors. Currently Stiglitz is a University Professor at Columbia University. Among other achievements, he has served as chairman of the International Commission on the Measurement of Economic Performance and Social Progress, and co-chairs its current successor.
